Sublimation:

With sublimation printing, the colors are released from the transfer paper when exposed to heat and bind to the synthetic fibers. After cooling, the colors finally bond and the synthetic fibers enclose the colors permanently.

Sublimation has the following advantages:

  • Fully customizable products
    • The products are completely designed by us and adapted to your visual wishes.
  • Direct processing of the printed raw material
    • The actual production starts directly with the sublimated raw material. This is cut after printing and sewn into the end product.
  • Extremely robust and hard-wearing
    • High-quality fabrics mean that the garments produced are extremely hard-wearing and robust.
  • Imperceptible application of paint
    • Due to the direct printing of the raw material, the print cannot be felt because there is no coating.
  • Coverage of the entire CMYK color spectrum
    • The CMYK color spectrum was standardized with the ISO standards 15929 and 15930 in order to enable color-accurate print results.
  • ÖKO-Tex 100 certified colours
    • We print the textiles exclusively with water-soluble, non-toxic and environmentally friendly Oeko-Tex inks - Made in Italy.

However, sublimation has technical limitations and the following should be observed:

  • Possible color deviations between the representation on the screen and the final product
    • Depending on the calibration or setting of a screen, colors can be displayed differently and therefore not exactly match the colors on the final product.
    • At JerseyBoys, we use appropriately calibrated screens to avoid discrepancies in design creation.
  • Raw material made of synthetic fibers is mandatory
    • The raw material for sublimation printing must consist of synthetic fibers, otherwise the colors may differ from the original. For this reason, we cannot fully sublimate cotton products; we can offer digital or screen printing for individualization.

digital printing (Direct to Garment)

With digital printing, the garment is printed directly in specially developed printing machines. Special inks and highly developed print heads are used for this.

Digital printing has the following advantages:

  • Printing of defined areas with full-color motifs and color gradients
    • We can print individually defined areas on the DTG products.
  • High wash resistance
    • High wash resistance with the observance of appropriate care: cold wash, inside-out, no bleach.
  • ÖKO-Tex 100 certified colours
    • We print the textiles exclusively with water-soluble, non-toxic and environmentally friendly Oeko-Tex inks - Made in Italy.
  • Suitable for all cotton products
    • Prints on all cotton-based textiles (min. 60% cotton content) possible.

However, digital printing has technical limits and the following should be observed:

  • positioning of the print
    • The positioning is subject to tolerances.
    • The distance to the collar is adjusted depending on the size.
  • Small holes or slight tears in the print
    • Can occur in particular on white surfaces or textiles with a very uneven surface.
  • Slight brownish discolouration
    •  Can occur as a result of a chemical reaction in textile dyes and unfortunately cannot be avoided, but these discolorations disappear after the first wash.
  • color deviations
    • We create elaborate print profiles for every product and every color from a manufacturer. However, despite identical print parameters, different print results can occur on individual products in an order.
  • Slight distortions
    • Especially possible with large, full-surface motifs. When the shirt is pulled off the printing plate, the textile fibers inevitably warp, which can lead to slight distortions.
