Sublimation:

In sublimation printing, heat releases the colours from the transfer paper and bonds them to synthetic fibres. As the fabric cools, the colours become permanently embedded in the fibres.

Sublimation offers the following benefits:

• Fully customisable products
  • We design the entire product and adapt it to your visual preferences.
• Direct processing of the printed material
  • Production starts with the sublimated material. After printing, it is cut and sewn into the finished product.
• Extremely robust and hard-wearing
  • High-quality fabrics make the garments produced extremely hard-wearing and robust.
• No raised print layer
  • Because the material is printed directly, the print cannot be felt: there is no coating.
• Coverage of the full CMYK colour spectrum
  • The CMYK colour spectrum has been standardised through ISO standards 15929 and 15930 to enable colour-accurate printing results.

However, sublimation has technical limitations. Please keep the following in mind:

• Possible colour differences between the screen display and the finished product
  • Depending on a screen's calibration or settings, colours may be displayed differently and may therefore not match the finished product exactly.
  • At JerseyBoys, we use appropriately calibrated screens to avoid deviations when creating designs.
• Synthetic-fibre material is required
  • Sublimation requires synthetic-fibre material; otherwise, colours may differ from the original. We therefore cannot fully sublimate cotton products. Digital or screen printing can be offered for customisation instead.

Digital printing (Direct to Garment)

Digital printing applies the design directly to the garment using specially developed printers, specialist inks and advanced printheads.

Digital printing offers the following benefits:

• Printing defined areas with full-colour artwork and gradients
  • We can print individual defined areas on DTG products.
• High wash resistance
  • High wash resistance when suitable care instructions are followed: cold wash, inside out, no bleach.
• Suitable for cotton products
  • Printing is possible on cotton-based textiles with at least 60% cotton content.

However, digital printing has technical limitations. Please keep the following in mind:

• Print positioning
  • Positioning is subject to tolerances.
  • The distance from the collar is adjusted according to size.
• Small holes or slight cracks in the print
  • These can occur particularly in white areas or on fabrics with a very uneven surface.
• Slight brownish discolouration
  •  This can result from a chemical reaction with fabric dyes and unfortunately cannot be avoided. The discolouration disappears after the first wash.
• Colour variations
  • We create detailed print profiles for each manufacturer's product and colour. Even with identical print parameters, individual products within an order may have different print results.
• Slight distortion
  • This is possible particularly with large, solid designs. Removing a T-shirt from the printing platen inevitably moves the textile fibres, which can cause slight distortion.
