Identity with texture.

Logo embroidery for teamwear: how artwork becomes stitches and what to consider for caps, beanies, polos and hoodies.

01

From logo to embroidery file

Embroidery creates artwork through thread and defined stitches in the fabric. The graphic is converted into an embroidery programme. Areas, stitch directions and outlines must suit the design size and material. An existing image file is therefore a starting point, rather than the finished embroidery file.

02

A distinctive look and feel

Thread creates a textured surface. Light and stitch direction affect how the colour appears. This makes embroidery a design approach in its own right, particularly for compact logos. A printed graphic and embroidered version may therefore be deliberately structured differently.

03

Clear shapes help

Very small lettering, narrow gaps and fine lines may need adjustment for embroidery. Smooth gradients also cannot simply be copied from an image file. A simplified logo may give a clearer result on a small area. We agree on any adjustments for the specific design.

04

Comparing caps, polos and hoodies

A curved cap, ribbed beanie fabric and flat chest area place different demands on artwork and positioning. A shared colour palette preserves the team's identity while logo size and execution are adapted to each model.

05

Artwork and colour selection

A clean vector file or high-resolution reference with clear edges is helpful. Agree on the desired artwork size and which details matter most. Choose the fabric colour and thread colour together so the logo stays clearly visible.

06

Caring for the finished item

Care for embroidered items according to their specific instructions. Avoid heavy rubbing on the embroidery and do not pull individual threads. Caps, knitted hats and cotton T-shirts need different care; the base material matters as much as the decoration.
